Not my Job – My Passion

Not my Job – My Passion

My life revolves around lashes It’s not just my business it’s my passion.

I literally examine your face shape, eye shape/size/distance between, lid space, brow shape, and natural lash line to determine the best custom design for YOU.

I carefully choose the right diameter, length, dimension for every single one of your natural lashes to not cause damage.

After 2 hours of not moving a muscle just my hands… You would think that my hands would cramp…It’s crazy but they don’t. However when I do try to stand up at the end of a session I do walk a little bit lopsided because my muscles are screaming because they haven’t moved in 2 hours and it takes me a bit to re-focus my eyes because I have been concentrating with magnifying glasses for the entire time.

My clients enjoy crazy retention… Meaning that even after 3 weeks, their extensions still look beautiful. That doesn’t happen by accident. I only use the highest quality products on my clients and my adhesive alone is more than $100 for 10 ml.

It is such a delicate art. Every natural lash is singled out and then the extensions are placed on your natural lash without touching the skin and staying half a millimetre away from your skin… This is done hundreds of times per eye.

I love it when my clients fall asleep and snoring is one of my favourite sounds… Because it means she is completely relaxed and trusts me. I have to be extra gentle to make sure that I don’t wake her up.

I think about you long after your appointment because I analyze the pictures of your lashes, so I can do better the next time I see you.

I spend hours researching new techniques and the latest products to ensure I am giving you the very best.

Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to be your lash artist… XOXO

    My Top Eyelash Extension Tips

    My Top Eyelash Extension Tips

My Top Eyelash Extension Tips.  We are only a week away from Christmas and as I drink my coffee and enjoy the morning, I thought I would put together my Top Eyelash Extension Tips.

Lash extensions help to boost your confidence, and they also make your morning routine a breeze. Whether you have worn eyelash extensions for years or you are a lash newbie, it never hurts to learn more! Here are my top 10 Eyelash Extension Tips.

Tip 1. One Size Fits All

There’s no such a thing as one look fits all.  You are unique, your eye shape is unique.  You want lashes that compliment your eye and have been designed for you.

We have all seen “those” pictures or know of someone who has Lash Extensions and it looks like 1 length was applied to the entire eye.  I personally hate that look!

Lash Extensions come in different weights and lengths.  Depending on your Lash Artist’s certification and experience, the look can be very different. In your search for a Lash Artist you will find beginners as well as advanced Artists and the look you get will depend on her capabilities.

Everyone has to start somewhere.  Please understand that I am not knocking New Lash Technicians.  We have so much amazing talent in our City.  With that said you will get a different look from a Brand New Lash Technician versus an Advanced Lash Artist.

    • Advanced Artists will give you a full set of safe eyelash extensions. Your lashes will look darker, fuller and more uniform with a beautiful pattern designed to compliment your eye.
    • As an Advanced Certified Lash Artist, my sets are much different than those you see on Social Media.
    • My designs are very complicated.  At your appointment I am working hundreds of tiny lash extensions to create the look I want for you.

    Tip 2. Clean lashes

I don’t have any clients that come with dirty lashes, but I know a lot of ladies read my blog, so I did want to touch on this.

If you are going to another Technician, remember that dirty lashes means that your technician is spending more time cleaning your lashes before she can start your fill. Your lashes will look more incredible if your Technician or Artist can spend more time lashing rather than cleaning.

Eyelash Extension Tips - Water Activities

Tip 3. Eyelash extensions are safe for most water activities.

Do NOT avoid the water!  Many clients avoid water like the plague because they are afraid of getting their lashes wet.  Get them wet, enjoy swimming and other water activities!

Can I get my lashes wet?

    Tip 4. Looking for drama?

Longer extensions aren’t necessarily the solution.

Shorter lashes give a fuller and more dramatic look than longer lashes because it is a bolder look. Longer extensions have a wispier feel and will  not necessarily mean that your look  will be  more dramatic.

    Tip 5. Speak Up

All of my clients crash hard at their appointment.  My favorite sound is a snoring client!!

You are not a bug or an inconvenience if you speak up at your Lash appointment.  Your Lash Artist or Technician wants you to have the best experience possible.  If you are feeling any burning or itching during your appointment, it is so important that you let your technician know.

You should be completely comfortable during your appointment.  Anything other than comfortable is not normal.

    Tip 6. Lash Extension Maintenance

As your Lash Artist I will give you a perfect set of Eyelash Extensions.  With that said, it is your responsibility take care of them.

My clients have amazing retention, meaning their Extensions don’t just fall off.  You will enjoy  long lasting eyelash extensions if you do practice at home maintenance.

The lifespan of lash extensions depends on  cleanliness, makeup and beauty routines,  growth and shed cycles, as well as seasons.

Ultimately the retention of lash extensions depends on how much care you put into keeping them healthy and looking great.  That doesn’t mean you will be spending a ton of time maintaining them, but it does mean a quick lash bath every night.

    Tip 7. Nap time!

During a lash extension appointment, the majority of my clients do fall asleep.  I love visiting with my clients but I am working with hundreds of tiny lashes, complicated patterns and I do alot of layering to create that fluffy look you see in all of my pictures and I have discovered that I do go quite when I am creating and designing perfect lashes.

My clients all know this and they use this time to  to relax or sneak in a nap and enjoy the pampering.

Eyelash Extension Tips - Lash Naps

Tip 8. Coffee or tea before an appointment?

Your eyes can flutter all they want and I can absolutely work around it.  My clients who think their eyes are fluttering, actually aren’t.   Don’t worry about fluttery eyes, after a few minutes everything settles down once you are in the zone.

Caffeine can definitely cause your eyes to flutter, but I am more concerned that caffeine will make it difficult for you to relax and tune out the busy world.

Best adivce, avoid caffeine at least an hour before your appointment.

Eyelash Extension Tips - Coffee before Appointment

Tip 9. Longer lashes on the outer corners.

Longer lashes on the outer corners don’t work for everyone.

A cat-eye is supposed to make your eyes look larger, but that doesn’t work for everyone’s eye.  Natural lashes grow shorter on the outer corners and in most case those lashes cannot support the heavier weight of longer extension. Longer lashes on the outer corner can end up looking droopy, and it isn’t flattering look on everyone.

    Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions

    Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions

    Classic vs Volume

Trying to decide Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions?

Your eyelashes are such a small part of your face.  Often times our lashes go unnoticed in their natural state. That’s where I come in.  With my line of beautiful lash extensions and my experience as a 4x Certified Lash Artist, I can make your eyes as beautiful as you know they were meant to be.

Eyelash Extensions are not a one size or one look fits all.  I offer you options when it comes to styling or designing the perfect look for you. Here are the 2  types of lash extensions that I offer.

classic vs volume eyelash extensions - classic

    Classic Set

A technique where I apply  1 eyelash extension to 1 natural lash.   My Classic Set is great if you are looking to add length and enhance your already beautiful eyes.

They can be designed to be either natural or dramatic, totally a personal preference.

    Volume Set

I apply 5 to 8 extensions to 1 natural lash. A lighter extension is used to ensure that I maintain lash health and proper application of the extensions.

If you are  looking to achieve a thick, full look, then my volume set is perfect for you.

    What Are Lash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are tiny synthetic  lashes that are attached to your natural lash.

Both Classic and Volume Eyelash Extensions will make your lashes appear longer and fuller.

The extensions are placed one millimeter away from your eyelid or lash line, with one or more extension being fixed to an individual natural eyelash.

Depending on what type of look you are wanting,  you can choose Volume Eyelash Extensions for thickness and drama, or Classic Extensions for a subtler, more natural look.

Keep reading I will talk more about Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions.

    Preparing for your Lash Appointment

Whether you are dciding on Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions,  Great post on how to prepare for your appointment,

Volume Extensions for A Lush, Full Look

Volume Eyelash Extensions do exactly that;  they increase the volume of your lashes, making them appear thicker than your natural lashes would.

This style of Extensions take longer to apply than Classic Extensions, and they cost more.  This is because I use up to 5 to 8 times the lashes  and they are more time consuming to design and apply.

Classic Extensions Enhance Your Natural Beauty

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a subtle look.

Classic lashes are when I apply only  one synthetic artificial lash to 1 natural lash.  They are faster to apply than Volume Extensions and they cost less.

Whether you are dciding on Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions,. Great post on how to Care for your Eyelash Extensions.

    Let’s talk about Volume.

This is the most versatile lash treatment that I offer, and suit most clients.  Volume Eyelash Extensions is actually a technique, that is very advanced.  Only experienced and certified technicians offer this service.

When clients are considering Volume Lashes they are always concerned that they won’t look natural.  Compared to a classic set, volume lashes look absolutely real. I place the  lighter, thinner extensions  intricately and  they look perfect even up close.  Check out some of my before and after pictures.   It is hard to believe she wasn’t born with these lashes!

    Caring for your Eyelash Extensions

    Caring for your Eyelash Extensions

You’ve got brand new eyelash extensions and you will love them from day 1.  Caring for your Eyelash Extensions will help to keep your lashes looking their best.

Here are a few tips on Caring for your Eyelash Extensions.

If you are a client of mine you will have heard me say, that there are only 2 things that will make your Eyelash Extensions fall off before their time.  Those 2 things are Oil and Friction.

Wash your Eyelash Extensions Every Night

Clean lash extensions last longer.  If you have been told in the past to avoid water, by another technician, this is bad advice.  Your lash extensions will fall off prematurely when you avoid washing them.

Understand when and how to wash your eyelash extensions:  READ MORE

    Don’t rub your eyes

This is truly  has  to be the toughest tip of  all my tips.  We don’t realize how much we rub our eyes until we are told we can’t.

Rubbing your eyes is a big no no, as it will cause them to fall prematurely. Rubbing  can break the bond between your natural lashes and your eyelash extensions.

    Don’t sleep on your Face

Sleeping on your face pushed into your pillow can cause your extensions to fall out more quickly.

Try to sleep on your back.

TIP:  Whether you sleep on your face, back or side.  Invest in a silk pillow case.  You can pick them up really cheap on Amazon.  Remember me saying an enemy was friction?

Only use makeup and  face products that are oil free

Now this is not to say that you have to give up all the products you love.  Just keep products with oil away from your lashes.

    Brush your eyelashes

For each appointment you have, you will leave with the lash brush I used on your lashes.  You can brush through your lashes whenever you like.  For sure you will want to brush them first thing when you wake up and probably before you go to bed.

Brushing your lashes, keeps them looking nice and neat.  Don’t be afraid to brush them, they aren’t going to fall off.

    Don’t use waterproof mascara

Actually you shouldn’t be using mascara at all.  But for sure no waterproof mascara or  any waterproof makeup.  I always say, if it is hard to get off, don’t se it.

Waterproof mascara is hard on both eyelash extensions and natural lashes.  The scrubbing required to remove waterproof make-up will damage your eyelash extensions and traumitize natural lashes.

Once you have your lashes done, you will find that you don’t need mascara.  Just make sure that your eyeline and eyeshadows aren’t waterproof.

    Caring for Your Eyelash Extensions

    Most important tip!

Don’t forget  to maintain your fabulous lashes, you need to get your lash extensions filled on a regular basis.

    Eyelash Extensions – Saskatchewan Reopening – Phase 3 Covid19

    Eyelash Extensions – Saskatchewan Reopening – Phase 3 Covid19

Hey everyone, just a quick update.

You can now book appointments online.

My calendar is available for online bookings from July 7th to the end of the year. Click on the schedule now button below and grab your favorite appointment times. If you have ANY problems finding a convenient time or need me to book your appointments, be sure to let me know by texting 306.535.7787!!

WOW, this has been such a crazy time!! It has taken me a bit longer to reopen. Scott Moe stressed that June 8th was a “target” date, so I patiently watched him everyday waiting for him to announce that June 8th was official. Unfortunately he never made that announcement. With that said, on June 5th when I went on to the Government website, I did see that Phase 3 date of June 8th was a go…. that was super frustrating that he never made an official announcement!! Next, I had to figure out was what we needed tor PPE and get my studio rearranged so I could open and be compliant with all the new regulations.

So…. long story short… I now have everything figured out and I am SO excited to see everyone and get back to “normal”.

    Love you…xxoo

When will Lash Artists Open in Saskatchewan?

When will Lash Artists Open in Saskatchewan?

Scott Moe, Premier of Saskatchewan announced today the strategic re-opening of Saskatchewan.  I am so excited I can barely stand it.  I am excited to know that this will all come to an end soon, and I will be able to see all my beautiful clients and friends soon!

I’m so proud of our Province!! Thank You to each and every one of you for doing your part to help flatten the curve.

Our province announced the re-opening of non-essential businesses in 5 phases.  Lashes would fall under “aesthetics” which is PHASE 3 and no date for reopening Phase 3 was announced today.

How can you help your Regina Lash Artists?   Continue to support the Lash Artist that you were a client of before the Lockdown.  This one thing will help our Local Lash Artists to work together rather than competing against each other.

For all of my beloved clients…… you will be booked and given priority over any new clients.  I can’t open my calendar and allow online bookings until we have a date from the Province.  When we are given a date, I will let all my clients know.  I will make announcements on my website and also my Facebook Page… follow me on Facebook.

When we have a date I can start to book your appointments.  Remember that your first appointment time will be a little longer because we will be starting from scratch with your lashes.  My appointment time slots will also take into account social distancing measures and of course extra time will be required for sanitation and cleaning between clients.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your continued support and I will see you soon…xxoo
